The IBMHOF has an outstanding collection of books, magazines, newspapers, publications and other archival materials related to bowling history. The collection is accessible to film, television and internet production houses, researchers and the casual bowling fan. Research may be performed by Museum staff, or by the researcher under the supervision of Museum staff. Typical services include individualized assistance with projects, photocopying assistance, and fact-checking.
The fee for research assistance is $25 per hour (plus tax) for up to eight hours on a given project. Fees for projects involving more than eight hours are: $50 per hour for the ninth through twelfth hours, and $100 per hour for each additional hour. Mailing/shipping – $3.50 handling + postage cost. Research fees are payable in advance. Fees for brief amounts of research time may be waived for students at the discretion of the Curator. Fees for museum members are waived.
Discuss your research needs in advance with Museum staff. Staff will make good faith but not guaranteed estimates of the timeframe in which a project can be completed. For researchers choosing to visit the Museum, appointments must be arranged in advance so that workspace and supervision can be arranged. Photocopies resulting from research are 25 cents per black and white copy and 50 cents per color copy plus tax.
NOTE: Separate, additional fees apply for video use and photographic reproductions.
